Attention: As of 21 March 2008, I will no longer attempt to advise “anyone” who may need advice on how to mount any of my seats onto the 800 Drifters! Flattop down in St. Louis makes the 800 Drifter brackets, his brackets are better then the bikes that they are going on, and will out last the bikes themselves. Flattop should have been an engineer for NASA, as well built as his 800 Drifter brackets are.
In the past three, or four years I have tried to help a very few people that just couldn’t come up with the funds for Flattops’ design, and I have graciously helped them out with my weaker design, that was first made by Heather’s Leathers back in 2004. It worked, but, it’s not even in the same league as Flattops’. Flattop and I had a gentlemen’s agreement not to infringe on each other mounting systems. {My 1500 Drifter Brackets and his 800 Drifter Brackets}, of which I have overlooked twice now. Flattop, if you are reading this, I apologise. However, you can be assured that this “WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!”
I truly hate to do this but, this is the way it has to be. ~Wayne~
